2002: ISO 9001-2000 Registration

Miller Electric Mfg. Co. becomes the first U.S. welding equipment manufacturer -- and one of the first few U.S. manufacturers of any product -- to comply with the new ISO 9001:2000 standard. (Click to see Certificate of Registration)

The ISO 9001:2000 standard addresses meeting customer requirements and achieving customer satisfaction in much greater detail than the old standards. Miller was able to achieve compliance first because it already had many of the basic systems in place for measuring and improving customer satisfaction.

The familiar ISO 9001, ISO 9002 and ISO 9003 standards are now obsolete; they have been replaced by ISO 9001:2000. In addition to its first-compliance status with ISO 9001:2000, Miller was the first welding equipment manufacturer to comply with the original standards, which it did in 1993.
